Helen Boon Visits KAP

In October 2005 KAP Helen Boon visited the KAP hospital and some of the schools that KAP is supporting. Helen has extensive experience with health care in developing countries and was awarded the Order of the British Empire for those efforts. She is currently working as a community nurse with the North Tyneside Primary Care Trust.

During her visit she conducted a workshop on hygiene and safety in the hospital. Furthermore, she assessed the areas where KAP needs some more support. This will help us to identify future placements for short-time volunteers. At the same time it could lead to a longterm co-operation with organizations based in the UK, like the NHS or the North Tyneside Primary Care Trust.
